Today I leave for Europe.  London.  London for a few days, then Barcelona, then Frankfurt, back to Barcelona, on to Oslo, and finally home.  These cities in 10 days.  If I'm lucky, I may address as many as 1,500 developers in all -- more likely 1,200, but I'm ever hopeful.  And since it's Europe, I know the crowd will be well disposed to hearing about Java, especially now that Linux will be supported.

It seems to me that two great movements have come out of Europe in the past couple of decades.  The first would be the Green movement - the Green party spans Europe as no other political party does anymore, with the possible exception of the Communists.  And the second would be Linux.

I'm planning on taking notes on my laptop, so I'll have plenty of thoughts for these pages when I return.
