A Prayer for my Friends

You are not alone.

We are all in a state of post traumatic shock, which will
manifest in many ways...the stress of the past few weeks
has been almost unbearable....is there a thinking person
anywhere on our planet that hasn't felt the utter terror
of existence post 9/11? Is it the end of civilization?
Armageddon? A clash of cultures leading inexhorably to human extinction
or at least an awful and hideous transition?
We cannot know. One thing is certain:
the world will never be the same.
What happens now is in God's hands...
and besides God,
there is only thing that has not changed:
CHOICE

Choice is a magic word. You have the choice....
at all times...is this heaven or hell? It's both.
It is either Hope or Fear. We can live in our Hope,
or yield to our Fear; Heaven and Hell is as simple
as that Choice which each of us get to make
on a daily basis.

All belief is a function of Choice.
We Choose our Faith. We Choose our Beliefs.

Choose Hope. Hope is a good thing.
Live in that place, and know that no matter what happens,
you are a child of God and therefore loved. No matter what.

Life is a temporal thing...none of us get out alive in
any event; Death is a friend to us all. Given that,
live in Hope, remain aware, give what you can, and let
Love be your mantra. And all will be well.

There are no prophets. No saints. No sinners.
We are all just people; some yield to hate and anger,
most do not. Is this the end of civilization? I doubt
it....but if it is, what an amazing thing! To witness
such events...we must be special people indeed; to be
alive now, to bear witness to such interesting times...

Know this: Life is Freedom, by definition.
Yearn, therefore, for Life.

As FDR said, the only thing to fear is fear itself.
Take a deep breath, close your eyes
and go within;
find that within you that is eternal
There peace lives. And in that place, there is no fear.
There is only Hope.
